Bicycle Accidents in Nashville

Spring is a time to get outside and enjoy the great weather . Bicyclists are taking to the streets in record numbers . However , be aware that Middle Tennesse has some of the highest car-bike crash rates in the state . According to statistics from the Department of Safety , the Tennessee Highway Patrol recorded 249 accidents between 2003 and 2006 in Nashville and 88 accidents in Rutherford County . Bicyclists have the same right to use the roadways as cars and trucks . Bicycle orgainizations are pushing for more enforcement for traffic violations concerning cars versus bikes.
