A new has been proposed to give greater protection to bicyclists in Tennessee . If passed , Tennessee drivers would have to keep at least three feet away when passing a bicyclist . The bill passed the State House on Monday . Bicyclists should also be aware to ride their bikes as close to the shoulder or for line as possible . The bill was passed in memory of a young boy who was killed last year . Tennessee is blessed with great places to ride such as the Natchez Parkway . Now , we have some safety laws to match .
