This week I have commented on a couple of car accidents that happened in Nashville due the driver overcorrection . Driver overcorrection occurs when a driver runs off the road or drives onto the shoulder then jerks the steering wheel which causes the car to go into the oncoming lane of traffic . In investigating these cases , pavement edge drops should be looked into . If the pavement edge is more than 1.5 inches in height , the pavment edge would cause the driver to have to steer harder to get the tire over the edge of the pavement . The key is to always consider other factors than just that of the driver's conduct .
