Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for 15-to-20 year-olds according to the National Highway Traffic and Safety Adminstration . The research also shows that the more teen passengers that are in the car increases the odds of a car accident . Tennessee has laws on the books that limit the number of passengers that are in the car with teen drivers . Parents should limit passengers , restrict cell phone usage , and strongly encourage seat-belt use . I personally have got the call from a Tennessee Highway Trooper that my daughter was in an accident . It is a call no parent wants to get . Luckly , there was only minor injuries in her case .
