Trailer Towing Dangers

Trucks tow more trailers than ever on our highways , such as lawn mowers and the like . Safety precautions must be made to prevent the trailer from coming loose from the hitch or swinging wildly . On Tuesday , these trailer safety rules hit home in an accident in Nashville , Tennessee (TN) . A Tennessee Department of Safety employee was seriously injured when a portable cement mixer came off a truck's hitch . Glenn Stone was hit by the cement mixer and Life-flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center . According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol , the mixer became detached from the the pickup truck . Simple safety precautions could have prevented accidents such as these .
