The Nashville Police Department has decided to allow the police officers to use Tasers beginning this month. Tasers were limited in Nashville following the death of a young man who was shocked over 19 times with a Taser. The family of the young man filed a wrongful death suit against Nashville and Taser. The case is still pending. This decision comes after a jury awarded a $ 6.2 million dollar verdict against Taser International Inc. The jury found that taser failed to warn the police that prolonged exposure to electric shock from the device could cause a riskof cardiac arrest. I just hope that Chief Serpas has thought long and hard over allowing Tasers back on the streets of Nashville.
