Construction Accidents

Highway construction cases have been on the rise in the Nashville area . First , three major interstates run thru Nashville . Second , there is plenty of taxpayer money used to finance new road construction. The two main issues I see in these type of cases involve pavement edge drops and faulty transition areas . Pavement edge drops are dangerous when they exceed a drop of more than 1.5 inches . Faulty transition area cases involve whether the taper of the roadway was sufficent , lack of warning signs , and whether a lane closure was too close to a crossover . The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices sets the standards for proper construction zone maintenance . Also , be aware of the decreased speed limits in these construction zones .
